This extra heavy-duty aluminum extension ladder boasts a sturdy construction, capable of supporting up to 300 pounds (type IA). The Traction-Tred D rungs are made of slip-resistant aluminum, ensuring a secure grip. The exclusive Alflo rung joint connection by Werner provides a twist-proof performance, seamlessly connecting the rungs to the rails.

The extra heavy-duty I-beam rails are held together by thick guide brackets that fully engage the fly section, ensuring a durable and smooth operation. The rubbed spring-loaded locks operate effortlessly, allowing for easy separation of the base and fly sections, which can be used as an extension or as two individual sections.

The smooth-operating pulley design is enclosed, protecting it from external elements. The guide brackets contribute to the overall durability and smooth operation of the fly section, while the rugged shoe rests flat or can be held in the spur position with the Shu-Lok feature, providing additional stability.

Equipped with a rope and a smooth-operating pulley, except for the No. D1516-2 model, the ladder is designed for efficient and hassle-free use. The dimensions of the ladder are as follows: rails are 3 inches wide, the flange is 1-1/8 inches wide, the rungs are 1-3/4 inches wide, and the base width is 18-1/8 inches outside the rails. When not extended, the length of the extension ladders is half the total length of the sections.
